Account Executive
Nobody has a playbook for selling vision AI. Not Datadog, not Snowflake, not your current company. There is no “proven motion” to copy. There's a product that works, a market that's waking up, and an open question about how to turn that into a sales engine. If that sounds like a problem, this isn't the right role. If it sounds like the whole point, keep reading.
Moondream builds vision AI that processes every frame of video in realtime. Our customers inspect products on assembly lines, read documents at scale, and navigate robots through warehouses. Some deals close in two weeks after a quick proof of concept. Others take months and involve procurement teams who have never bought AI infrastructure, security reviews, and on-prem deployments where “the cloud” is a non-starter. You need to be genuinely good at both.
You should probably apply if:
- You've closed six-figure infrastructure deals and can walk through what made them work (and what almost killed them)
- You've built pipeline from scratch before, not just inherited a book of business someone else sourced
- You actually learn the product. You can hold your own in a technical conversation without immediately reaching for the SE.
- You've sold into personas that don't have budget lines for your category yet. You know how to create urgency when there's no existing line item.
You should definitely not apply if:
- Your sales process is “send the pricing PDF and wait for a reply”
- You need a 40-slide pitch deck and a manager's approval before you can have a conversation with a prospect
- You want a category where Gartner already wrote the Magic Quadrant. We're building the category.
- Remote work is non-negotiable (we're in SF and the early sales motion gets figured out in person)
What you'll actually do
- Figure out what “selling vision AI” looks like as a repeatable motion. The playbook doesn't exist yet. You'll write it.
- Run discovery with VPs of Engineering who want to process a million images a day. Negotiate contracts with procurement teams at manufacturers who have never bought this before.
- Work directly with engineering and product. What you hear from customers shapes what we build next. This isn't lip service; the team is small enough that it actually happens.
- Close deals that range from straightforward cloud deployments to complex on-prem installations with air-gapped networks and IT teams who move slowly on purpose
