Moondream allowed me to implement semantic behaviors for robotics systems far easier than any other way I could think of doing it.

Who I Am

I am a software engineer at a North Carolina based startup, WarmHub.

What I Do

I work on building smarter, more accessible robots by integrating LLMs (both big and small). Our startup was initially focused on creating an alternative to ROS that leveraged the performance and security benefits provided by WebAssembly.

Why Moondream

Speed and perception capabilities were what I was most interested in.

My Use Case

Moondream allowed me to implement semantic behaviors (drive to an object by name) for robotics systems far easier than any other way I could think of doing it. The model accuracy was great and the performance was great which to me was a first in the LLM space for this usecase.

My Story

I've been doing competitive FIRST robotics since 7th grade and throughout my time doing this in high school won Dean's List at the FIRST world championship. After high school robotics I worked on building prototype robotic systems for surgical use cases at a lab that spun out of Duke university, around this time I became a co-founder at my startup which during the beginning was focused on creating an alternative to ROS that leveraged the performance and security benefits provided by WebAssembly. Presently I am very interested in integrating LLMs (both big and small) to build smarter, more accessible robots.
